Yoda moped custom PCB by Futurewave, showing electronics design for GPS, 4G, BLE, and battery management

Yoda is an electric manoeuvrable and environmentally friendly motorbike running at a maximum speed of 50km/h with a battery range of 70km. Yoda is the result of extensive research and energy deployed to contribute to tomorrow's mobility by combining user experience and comfort.

With a minimal yet expressive style, the aluminum frame of the moped conveys both lightness and comfort while maintaining the strength to handle urban constraints. The soft, curved extrusions give Yoda its signature airy look, while discreetly housing its mechanical and electronic systems. To bring the full experience to life, we designed custom PCBs, developed embedded firmware, and implemented a robust backend server architecture—ensuring seamless operation, connectivity, and upgradability. Yoda integrates advanced technologies such as precise localization (GPS, GNSS), secure cloud connectivity (4G/LTE), IoT features (Bluetooth Low Energy, NFC), remote OTA (Over-the-Air) update capabilities, and an intelligent battery management system. These innovations deliver effortless navigation, real-time updates, and a truly connected user experience.

Yoda electric urban moped by Futurewave, combining transportation design with embedded electronics and software

We started our mission by defining the strategy behind the Yoda urban moped. We analyzed the habits of potential users to define the basic ergonomics needed to properly address the market. Once the research was finalized, we developed different concepts, placing Yoda’s user experience at the center with an innovative removable battery. Our engineering team carefully selected the components to build a first industrial prototype, demonstrating agility and resilience in the face of supply chain challenges.
